Show Notes

  1. What is an invasive species?  A plant species harmful to the natural environment and threatens the natural habitats and ecological impact of other species.

2.  Foraging isn’t wrong, just make sure you do it correctly and know what you’re cutting before you go.

3.  Understand you’re geography when foraging. Each state may have different invasive species of plant.  Google what plant species are invasive in your area. A little time researching is a very simple way to educate yourself before you forage.

4.  It’s important to understand the difference between the terms compostable and biodegradable they are definitley two different things.

5.  Any effort is an effort. We don’t always get it right the first time, but we can continue to learn and act in ways that impact our environment for today and tomorrow.

6.  Sustainably floristry doesn’t have to be more expensive. Be sure to share these efforts with your clients. There is consumer value when promoting more sustainable events.

7. Plastics are an easy place to start when  embarking on a sustainable journey in your business.

8.  Don’t except new products blindly. Do your own research and make sure they don’t impact the environment negatively.

9.  Don’t be afraid to have conversations about doing things different. That’s how we can all improve what we're doing.
