Show Notes

  1. Good publicity is all about telling your story in a way that is engaging and authentic and centered around your mission.

  2. A robust publicity strategy encompasses so much more than social media and helps you diversity your story.

  3. Tell your story through social media, tv appearances, collaborations, podcasts, books, magazine articles, etc.

  4. Grow your newsletters! If social media were to disappear or become irrelevant you still have a connection with your audience.

  5. Do your research. There are free resources for writing pitch letters, follow and get to know editors, and pay attention to timing your images for publications. You can’t shoot a flower farm not in bloom.

  6. Start local. Contact your local paper or magazine publication.

  7. Honor where you are in your own journey.

  8. If you want to sell a book to a publisher you need to have an audience in addition, you also need a robust plan to sell your book.
