Hello, we’re Sarah Daken & Tom Precht, husband and wife team of Grateful Gardeners. We’ve become disenchanted and disillusioned with our corporate “9 to 5” jobs, as so many have in this modern fast paced world. We desire to simplify, to go back to basics and to be stewards of the environment. Flowers are the perfect way to do that! Their beauty is unmatched in the plant world, a quality we hope to spread throughout the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region.

Anyone who has ever grown a plant from seed to harvest knows the immense satisfaction that comes with such an endeavor. It’s hard, it takes patience, and Mother Nature sometimes throws curve balls. However, the feeling of tapping into the ability of a plant to become a living piece of art is what brings us back every time.
